Glam Glow Gravitymud Firming Treatment Review

Tuesday, August 30, 2016
I'm sure many have already heard of the Glam Glow masks. There's a range of them that targets a specific skin concern. I've seen many bloggers talk about it so it made me quite interested in giving this brand a try, but the problem was I didn't want to spend $50+ on it. I can't afford that type of luxury just yet haha, so I redeemed this little guy with my Sephora points. I actually redeemed it a while ago, and I finally got around to try it out.
The actual product is this pearly white color.
It has a thick liquidy consistency and all you do is apply it all over your face, let it dry, and then peel!
I left the mask on for about 20-25 minutes before I started peeling it.
It was quite satisfying peeling the mask. I could have got it all in one go, but I got lazy so this is what I have. I inspected the dried mess to see if it pulled out some of my pores/blackheads or peach fuzz, but I didn't see any. I guess this mask is gentle on the skin.

PROs:
Nice consistency to apply over face
Made my skin feel really smooth
Firmed up my face
Fun to peel
Really cool pearly color

CONs:
The scent
A little messy to apply - got all over my fingers
Does not reduce large pores
Does not make my skin clearer

The purpose for this mask was to firm the skin and I think it does a great job with that.
I browsed through some reviews on Sephora and some users said that it helped reduce fine lines and wrinkles which I did not notice. My fine lines/wrinkles were mostly near my eyes and I didn't want to apply the product that close to that area, especially since this is a peelable mask. Perhaps they meant wrinkles on the forehead and laugh lines? Mine are not that deep so I didn't notice anything.
What I did notice was after I peeled the mask and washed off the excess/leftover pieces, my face did feel smoother and firmer. The little tube only had about two application total so my review is quite limited to only two uses.

Most masks that I've used that is peelable usually helps clear the skin and reduce the size of pores, too, but this one did not. I guess it just targets skin firming and that's it.

Overall, I will give it a 3.5/5
The mask is okay. It does it's only job which is firming the skin, but I can't justify paying so much for a product like this for now. Also, the biggest con for me is the scent. I am just not a big fan of it. It was too fragrant for my liking and it DOES NOT go away. It stays on your skin even after rinsing it off and applying moisturizer. The scent is hard to describe - it smelled really sweet like vanilla and coconut mixed together. Generally, I like those scents, but this was just way too much for me. I didn't want to use it for the second time because of the scent. I didn't feel so well the first time because the scent got to me and was making me feel nauseous. Same thing happened the second time, but for the sake of this review, I did it.

I'd say to give this mask a try if you're interested since it really does firm up the skin and makes it smooth, but if you're like me and don't like overly sweet things then maybe skip on this or just try the sample/travel size version first before committing on the real deal.

  1. Peel of things are so satisfying. Anyway, I just looked it up and the full sized is kinda pricey. Thanks for the review. Probably not gonna be one of the things I would pay so much money for then.
