OOTD: Muted Nature

November 22, 2013
Hello!
Just a quick outfit of the day since I haven't really done one in a while.

This was actually taken early fall before all the leaves started to change colors. I thought it was funny how my outfit ended up color coordinating with the background colors.

I know this shot is very blurry and grainy, but I really like it for some reason.

Little update: For those that follow me on twitter, you'll probably already found out, but my camera finally came in yesterday!! YAY!!!! I can't wait to use it and have higher quality pictures and maybe more videos soon? I am planning on doing a tutorial soon which I know a lot of you enjoy so stay on the look out for that!
Meanwhile, I will be busy finishing final projects and studying for finals which I think some of you are, too. Good luck!
Also, who is excited for fall break (aka Thanksgiving break)?! I know I am!

Northern Grade Event

November 17, 2013
Hello~
I believe it was back in September that I went to this event. My professor told the class about it and so my cousins and I decided to go and check it out.

Upon walking in, there was a furnace outside which at first I thought was pretty random, but after going through and and looking at everything, it made sense to the overall theme.

Besides this random pineapple, I really like the colors and tones of these clothes. I can see guys wear these during the fall and winter. The colors are muted and the textures feel really comfortable to wear.

I thought this antique chest and sewing machines was really beautiful.

The sunflowers added a very homey feel which I LOVED.

This is the booth I thought was very European-inspired and early colonization-inspired with the colors and styles of the clothes. I would say the bearded man there really puts the whole booth together and tie in the theme because back then men would usually have beards to keep warmth during the cold.

They were offering free hair cuts and grooming for guys. Too bad we didn't have our boyfriends with us LOL.

This section was very "American" with the flag hanging on the wall and the dollar bill. I really enjoyed looking through the little antique pieces.

I had to take a picture of these face mugs because I really liked them. I can't help but laugh each time I see it. I didn't buy any, but I can always look back at this picture to keep as a memory.

Overall, I think the theme and mood is "Colonial America". There were a mixture of European styles - tailor, structured jackets and American styles - denim jeans and plaid shirts throughout the booths.

After the little event, we went to grab something to eat.
We also camwhored a bit in the car aha.

Hoped you guys liked this post!

Halloween Weekend(s)

November 03, 2013
Hello! This is the second post of the day :).
(I doodled this in class aha...)

I thought I'll do a little update of what I did for Halloween. All of the Halloween things I did were all so last minute! So obviously my costumes were really last minute, too.

Well, the very first event I went to we did pumpkin carvings.

HAHA. My group's pumpkin is creepy isn't it?
It was from this event that my big and my other friends invited me to this Halloween party later that night. It was so last minute and I barely had enough time to get ready.

I tried to avoid being the cliche cat that almost every girl dress up as for Halloween since I already dressed up as a cat for two Halloweens haha. So I went as a broken doll. I would have done my hair in a better way if I had time, so I just tousled my hair as messily as I could. It didn't stay since I didn't use hair spray. /fail

Halloween night I didn't do much. I changed to a last minute costume as soon as I got home from school. I had no idea what to dress up as so I went as a school girl. We were planning on going to Chipotle for their Halloween deal, but bf said his mom invite us for dinner so we went there. After dinner, we went to Chipotle. We got it so we can eat it later as midnight snack or breakfast for the next morning.

We went to my cousin's boyfriends place to hang out, but soon had to leave since my cousins have to be home by 10:00 PM. We had a mini photoshoot which was fun. If you followed me on instagram then you would have seen some of the pics.

Then, on Friday we went to Ashland Berry Farm for their Halloween Hunt. We had a coupon for buy one get one free. It wasn't as scary as I thought, but it was fun.

This post was pretty short, but hopefully you guys liked it!
Overall, my Halloween this year was a lot of fun ^-^.
How was your Halloween?

[Sponsored] efacemasks: My Beauty Diary Japanese Cherry Blossom Mask

November 03, 2013
Hey guys!
I'm back with another sheet mask review. I know I said that I will be posting a review each week for these face masks but I don't think I will be doing that anymore. I usually don't use a face mask until I really need to  (like every two weeks maybe?) so using it once a week is a bit too much for me. Plus, I don't think you all will want to read post after post about sheet masks, right? So because of that I will just make a review on these masks whenever I use one.

So let's get on to the review!

My Beauty Diary Japanese Cherry Blossom Mask
This is the description on the site:
"Nothing smells sweeter than cherries, except maybe for the My Beauty Diary Japanese Cherry Blossom facial sheet mask! The skin fanatics at My Beauty Diary bring you a highly luxurious and savory Japanese Cherry Blossom Mask to apply anytime or after a long, stressful work day.

About the Ingredients
The soften sheet mask comes ready to be applied in a simple step and is filled with essential ingredients and extracts that make your skin look shiny and new! It is made from the extract of Yoshino cherry blossoms which has whitening, relaxing, and tightening effects on the skin. It is able to smooth fine lines, making your face firm again. It is especially beneficial for tired and stressed skin. Lemon and kiwi extracts, as well as aloe plant and arnica, all team up to relax the skin and make it instantly soft.

Usage
When you apply this mask, think fresh, light, airy, and energy, as it fully restores your skin to the youthfulness you remember."
So did it do what it claimed?
  • Whitening
    • Yes! When I was done using the mask, my dad asked me if I applied something on my face because it looks "white." Personally, I don't really care about the whitening properties because I'm already pale, but for those that got tanned over the summer and want to get a little lighter so you can get closer to your original skin tone, I would give this a try.
  • Tightening
    • Yes! So far from using masks, I feel like most of them do tighten your skin. I always notice how small my pores have gotten after I used one. I love it! My skin is prone to having blackheads so seeing them slowly diminish is really great.
  • Smooth fine lines
    • Yes! I believe so...I don't know if it's just this mask or because I have been using masks more frequently, but right now looking at the mirror, I feel like my laugh lines are less noticeable.
  • Firming
    • Yes! I love how youthful my skin looks after using it.
  • Soft
    • Yes! Most definitely yes!
Overall, I really like this mask. At this rate I think I'm going to love all the masks from My Beauty Diary haha! The only major con is that these masks are drenched in serum so it leaves a bit too much leftover on the face. I rub it in like it says on the directions but it was just too much! I would usually wipe some of the excess off so I won't have serum dripping all over the place. It's not a totally bad thing though because it means you get a lot for your money!
