Benefit They're Real! Mascara & Watt's Up! Highlighter Review

October 26, 2013

I received this little gift from Sephora for my birthday and I thought I will tell you all what I think of each of the products.

So let's start out with the They're Real! Mascara:

  • Dark black/grey color
  • Lengthens lashes well
  • Holds lash curls
  • Wand design - It is a combination of a regular straight wand and a ball wand. The "ball" part of the wand is very helpful when I am trying to reach the shorter lashes
  • Does not volumize lashes
  • Is not waterproof/water resistant
  • Transfers to the bottom eye area at the end of the day
  • It takes a while for it to dry completely
  • Wand design - It is not curved so when I try to apply it to my lashes it's a little more difficult

Overall, this is not one of the best mascara I have tried. I've only tried like three before this one because I don't usually wear mascara. I was actually pretty disappointed because this is the first non drugstore mascara I own. I thought it will be better than drugstore because it is more expensive. However, out of the mascaras I have tried, this is the only one that held the curls of my lashes. I will still use it because my TonyMoly one is kinda of dried up. I don't think I will purchase this mascara if I get the chance, but I was happy to try it out.

Now for the Watt's Up! Highlighter:

  • Easy to blend
  • Size - The size is perfect to apply onto the brow bone and nose bridge to highlight
  • Color - I think this is a very pretty champagne, nude shade which looks very natural.
  • Packaging - I like how the top clicks into place so I do not have to worry if it will pop out when it is in my bag.
  • A lot of product
  • Does wear off but most makeup do wear off at a certain point of the day so this wasn't a big con
  • Color - It does have quite a bit of shimmer to it and it could get a little messy.
  • Not very hygienic because you need to apply it right onto your face or with your finger.
Overall, I actually quite like this product. It is perfect for highlighting especially for my brow bone. Despite the amount of shimmers it has, it still appears pretty natural. The packaging is very cute and sturdy. For those that want to try out a creme highlighter, I would give this a try. Personally, I don't think I would purchase this on my own because I can find cheaper alternatives, but again since this was part of the gift set, I was happy to try it out. :)

(Please excuse the missing chucks of eyeliner. I need a better one. I took this at the end of the day to show how well the mascara and highlighter last).

[Sponsored] efacemasks: Missha Pure Source Raspberry Sheet Mask

October 18, 2013
Hi! Today's post is going to be a review on a sheet mask.

Efacemasks was nice enough to let me choose some sheet masks to review, and I will be reviewing one out of seven today.

Efacemasks is an online shop that sells sheet masks at a very affordable price. They have a wide variety of selections that you can choose from for all different skin types. If you don't already know, sheet masks are cotton masks that are absorbed with serum that you can apply to your face. Sheet masks can be made up of a variety of ingredients that help enhance your beauty.

First Impression:
When I first opened the mask I noticed that the sheet mask was different than the My Beauty Masks that I have been using. It looks like a happy face! The eye cut outs are just slits instead of holes. I guess this is to help double up on the under eye area (pictured below) to give it more nourishment.

This mask is smaller than that of the My Beauty Diary ones. It still fit my face though. When I first took it out to use, I noticed that this was not as soaked with serum as the My Beauty Diary ones. When I applied it to my face I felt the mask tightening my face which I did not get the feeling of with the MBD ones. It was an interesting feeling; it was almost like the mask was suctioned to my face. HAHA! The scent of the mask smells nice. It was not overwhelming.

This is the description of the product on the site:
"When wearing the Missha Pure Source Raspberry facial sheet mask, think light, airy, fresh, and fun!

About the Ingredients
This raspberry facial mask sheet is filled with all things essential for your skin. The mask's raspberry extract not only nourishes, feeding your face with pertinent nutrients and energizing essentials, it firms skin that is starting to sag around the eyes, neck, and chin.  The Missha face mask helps reverse the aging process and produces a gorgeous, healthy glow. When skin is healthy, it is happy. Say goodbye to blemishes, oil, and large unsightly pores.

The best part about applying the Missha Pure Source Raspberry sheet mask is that there is virtually no mess to clean up afterwards. Say goodbye to sticky fingers and hard to remove peels. The one piece mask is easy to apply and remove; and it certainly stays put as your wear it when and where you please. For best results, apply it right before bedtime to allow your skin time to soak up all the nourishment the sheet mask offers."

So did it do what it claimed?

  • Nourishing
    • Yes! My face felt so hydrated and smooth.
  • Firming
    • Yes! My skin does seem "bouncier" than before.
  • Shrink pores
    • Yes! I noticed that the pores on my nose and around it seemed A LOT smaller than before. I was amazed!
  • Goodbye to sticky fingers ✗
    • No. When I was taking the mask out, my fingers did feel sticky and my face felt sticky after I took off the mask, but I just left it on and let my skin absorb the nutrients. It is not sticky like glue sticky, but rather lotion sticky. I personally do not think it is possible for masks to not be sticky but since it mentioned in the description it is not sticky, I had to give my feedback, too.

Overall, I really liked this mask! I am extremely happy with how well it minimized the appearance of my pores. I will definitely recommend this mask for others to try.

September Favorites 2013

October 11, 2013

I did a monthly favorites last year in September so I thought I will continue that "tradition." The reason why I only do September Favorites because it is my birthday month haha. I don't know if you guys like seeing these or not so I only do them annually, but if you guys like seeing more of these types of posts then let me know in the comments below!

I know I am beyond late with this post, but hopefully, you'll forgive me.

So the first item on the list is my Samsung Galaxy 3 smartphone. I got this in the middle of September, but I have been loving it ever since! I rarely even use my ipod anymore :x. I love how I can customize everything and make it cute.

Next item is these earrings I got these at Forever21. It came with two pairs - black&gold and white&gold. I find myself wearing the black pairs more often because it matches most of the things I wear. I love them! It adds extra "class" to whatever I am wearing which is usually pretty casual.

I have been using this spray very often lately. I am not the perfume/smell-goods kinda gal, but I like spraying perfume or body spray in my room. This spray is very fresh with a hint of fruitiness. It's a very light fragrance which I love. I got this at Victoria Secret a year or two ago.

This olive anorak as been my go to jacket to throw on when it is a little chilly outside. It matches my outfits so well, and if you follow me on instagram, you have probably seen me sporting this jacket in a lot of my OOTDs already.

Last favorite is a song and MV that I have been obsessed with during September.
I love it! It's actually my ringtone at the moment and I have been trying to learn how to sing it. I love Ella Koon ♥ I have a friend whom I think looks a lot like her ^^.

So that concludes my September favorites! I know there wasn't a lot, but I have been really loving these this month. Hope you guys liked this post!
